TURBINE TRIP PROTECTIONS

 There are the following turbine trip protections are given:-

  1.  Emergency push button trip from desk & operator work station (OWS)
    1. Channel-1
    2. Channel-2
    3. Channel-3
  2. Fire Protection (Channel-1 & Channel -2) from control desk & OWS Channel-1,Channel-2 & Channel-3. & MBLD 1 & 2 (from MOT room & TG floor)
  3. Condenser vacuum low trip 2/3 (2 out of 3 logic).
  4. Lubricating Oil pressure very low 2/3 (2 out of 3 logic).
  5. HP exhaust steam temperature. Very high 2/3 (2 out of 3 logic).       
  6. Axial shift Very high 2/3 (2 out of 3 logic).
  7. HP Casing top bottom differential Temperature Very high (2 out of 2 logic) & load greater than 20% of rated load
  8. IP casing Front & Rear Top-bottom differential Temperature Very high (2 out of 2 logic) & load greater than 20% of rated load.
  9. Cold gas temperature after H2 cooler high (2 out of 3 logic).
  10. Seal oil temperature after cooler high (2 out of 3 logic).  
  11. Liquid level in main leads high (2 out of 3 logic).
  12. Hot air temperature exciter high (2 out of 3 logic).
  13. Primary water temperature after cooler high (2 out of 3 logic).
  14. Stator water winding outlet flow low (2 out of 3 logic).
  15. Main bushing R flow low (2 out of 2 logic)
  16. Main bushing S flow low (2 out of 2 logic)
  17. Main bushing T flow low (2 out of 2 logic).
  18. Boiler trip to Turbine trip.
  19. Generator trip to Turbine trip
  20. MOT level very low (2 out of 3 logic) (Through Fire Protection logic)

FIRE PROTECTION

  1. Fire Protection
    1. Fire Protection – Channel-1 & channel -2 can be initiated from Push buttons on turbine desk.
    2. HMI panel.
    3. Push buttons in MOT room
    4. Push buttons at TG Floor
    5. MOT level very low
  1. If Fire Protection channel-1 or channel-2 acts, following operations take place
    1. Emergency trip of turbine.
    2. Oil system shutdown
    3. Control Fluid System shutdown
    4. Vacuum breaker opens if Generator breaker is close.
